Nice printer, especially at sale prices. It seems to use more ink than my old RX680 and has 3x's the amount of steps and takes more time before it actually starts printing on a cd. Aren't things supposed to get better with newer models....seems like epson is dropping the ball. Only reason I buy epson is for the direct dvd printing. If Canon offered direct to cd printing I'd be right on it.

Have the XP-800 printer for 2 days now. After fairly easy setup I had extreme problems with printing. The inks supplied with copier were terrible. My test prints all had wide gaps in them. I next went to Nozzle Check and printed out sheets, wide gaps still appeared, then went to Head Cleaning with several print outs. No remedy. I then dumped all ink cartridges and purchased a brand new set of inks today. Prints now look fairly crisp and sharp, however a bit saturated and dense.
Today I called Epson tech support concerning dense print results. I was connected to an agent in the Philippines who was of absolutely no help at all in solving the problem.
I am a loyal Epson customer having purchased several printers previously.
My confidence in Epson has been severely compromised.
