Hey so I've always wanted a good gaming computer and finally have saved up money to buy one. I wanted to get one midrange to make it somewhat future proof and here's what I came up with. Also, my friend recommended a solid state drive for the OS so that's on here. (I don't know much about computers so I thought I'd just throw that out there =P)

Anyways here's the build:

GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H Intel 7 Series ($155)

Intel Core i5-3570K ($220)

Patriot G2 Series 8GB (DDR3 1600 Mhz) ($40)

EVGA GTX 560 Ti 1GB ($220)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB ($85)

SanDisk 64GB SATA III SSD ($65)

Lite-On Internal DVD Writer ($18)

Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid-Tower ($60)

Thermaltake TR-600 TR2 600W ($50)

Yup that's it! I got a lot of advice from websites so I thought I'd get some from breathing, squishy bipedal things as well! =)

Thanks in advance!

A few things I would change: first, the AMD 7750 has slightly better performance, a 40W lower TDP, and it's a little cheaper than the 560ti.

Next, 64GB is a bit tight IMO, though since you're not storing files on it you'll probably be OK. (keep in mind that games take up a lot of space) SSDs are definitely fast though.

You didn't specify what the timings of the RAM were, but if they're 9-9-9-24, you may want to get ones that are lower. (You want low timings and a high clock speed. Confusing, I know.)

Finally, I would change that power supply to the Corsair CX500. Sure, it's 500W instead of 600W, but it's a higher quality unit and it can actually provide what it claims. ($60 -$20 rebate)

Finally, do you need an OS as well? (I recommend windows 7 home premium OEM 64-bit, others like Windows 8, it's up to you.)

Wow, thanks a bunch! I'll definitely keep those recommendations in mind.

Also, yeah since I have a 1T hard-drive as well, I don't think space will be much of an issue. It's mainly to speed up start up at first and then everything else a little as well.

And it is 9-9-9-24 but I haven't found any that aren't so.... Any specific suggestions?

And yeah I was going to get windows 7! I prefer it to Windows 8.

Presumably you'll be storing the games on the SSD for speed, right? That said, I know there are some tricks to move games you haven't played in a while to the hard drive (ask compnovo).

Over all a decent build. The only part I would change is the power supply. Just about any Corsair, Antec HCG or Earthwatts, PC Power and Cooling, or OCZ ZX series would be much more stable, and likely last longer.
