its my hp laptop which has an LED screen, my
grandfather mistakenly put his wet hands on the laptop, some drops of tap water from his hands might have
dropped on the screen, since my grandfather has weak eyesight he couldn't see the drops falling on the screen; I was not home that
moment so i couldn't wipe off those drops of water instantly, when i returned
home i noticed partially dried drops of water on the
screen, i tried to wipe the drops but the dried water
residue is not going away; i have tried the cleaning solution from the cleaning kit and also distilled water
but there is an impression of a dried drop thats not going away at all; i tried to touch that area and didn't feel anything over the
screen...please help me and tell me how to get rid of this stubborn spot as its
noticeable and irritating......I'm not even totally sure if the drops did some permanant damage or not as it was tap water it might have had minerals in it

Hi, Billy.

What kind of cloth did you use? You should use a microfiber cloth.

Try a mixture (about half and half) of distilled water and white vinegar. Put it in a spray bottle, and spray the cloth, not the screen.

hey Lincoln is it possible for the water drop with the minerals of the water(as it was tap water) to penetrate inside the screen from over the surface of the LED screen?

I honestly don't know. The experts say you shouldn't use tap water, which makes me suspect it could have that effect. But I've spilled water on my phone and iPad without permanent problems.

Of course, your phone and iPad have glass protecting the screen, so they can't be damaged as easily.

If the water got in from the edges, it could easily get under the screen. Those stains are impossible to remove...

Do you mean if it's tap water then it could penetrate the screen? They make such expensive contraptions and provide no basic protection....
