> The first thing you notice when you hold the Lumia 920 is its size and weight The Lumia 920 weighs 185g. My current iPhone 4s with Puro cover weighs 172g; I have never thought of this as heavy. From what I have seen, the 920 is so solid that no cover is needed. So -- yes, I will notice the size (and be able to read the text through my dimming eyes). But, no! I will not notice the weight.

Why do you post this total rubbish. Get the iPhone out of the case and then, only then compare to this plastic junk.

@truthbetold11111

I am using my new Lumia 920 for this review. I just copied-and-pasted your name (above). Copy-and-paste couldn't be simpler or more obvious.

I was an iPhone user since the iPhone 2. My most recent iPhone was the 4, which I gave to my child when I upgraded to the Lumia 920 last weekend. I was happy with my iPhone(s). I am happier with this phone.

I first became intrigued with Lumia/WP early this year. The 900 was on display at the wireless store. I liked the phone's "feel" (weight and geometry) and the smooth interface of Windows Phone 7. The Lumia 920 had just been announced, or soon would be, which heightened my interest. I began following news about the 920 and WP8.

For perspective, I was drawn to the Apple universe in '06 with the release of the Intel-based MacBook. Over the next few years, I "went Mac and never looked back." I am still a big fan, as Apple continues to evolve and integrate its product line. With the (then) upcoming release of W8 and WP8, plus my first positive impressions of the Lumia 900/WP7, my curiosity and interest grew until Microsoft surprised with the release of the Surface a few months ago. (I briefly owned an iPad 2 and found it playful, very smooth and powerful, but not particularly useful for work stuff). I knew I would eventually own a Surface or a Lumia 920--perhaps both--and wasn't sure which to get first. I ordered a Surface, was pleasantly surprised to like it more than I expected, and knew then that I would indeed get a Lumia 920. I thought I could hold out till the first of the year, but the wireless upgrade price was too good to resist.

The wireless store (AT&T) had sold out of the 920, so I paid for the upgrade and let the sales rep order a black one for me. It arrived at the store a few days later, and I finally picked it up and activated it last weekend. I love it.

I have found that I can do anything on the Lumia 920 that I could on my iPhone 4, even screen captures. There are a handful of awkward inconsistencies in WP8--like the several different ways to "submit" things like social posts, login forms, etc. WP8 yet lacks the maturity and consistency of iOS6, though I do find it more fluid, responsive and much easier on the eye.

Here is my WP8 wish list thus far compared to my iOS spoilage: a "Reader" capability built into the browse; the ability to switch directly between any open apps (though the WP8 universal "back" button is awesome for navigating backward through everything).

Here's my Nokia app wish list: Drive+ Beta integration with my contacts. (Drive+ Beta rocks, by the way.)

Nokia Lumia 920 wish list: none (love it)

As a side note, I encased my Lumia 920 with an Otterbox Defender for Lumia 920. However, I disliked the transparent screen cover that came with the case, so I simply unpeeled it from the inside front of the case and put the case back on the 920... perfect!

Lastly, I look forward to firmware and OS updates that improve battery performance. The battery drains faster than my "old" iPhone 4, though I recognize this as not necessarily a battery problem but a resource management issue. I remember similar issues when various iOS upgrades appeared, which subsequent updates seemed to remedy. The battery in this phone certainly has capacity. I think it just needs firmware and/or software tweaks to make it last longer on a single charge.

i am a new user of the lumia 920. this phone has been over-exaggerated by microsoft. at first glance, it looks like an amazing phone and os; however, it is definitely a dudd after a few days. problems: 1. users are not allowed to select various colors for different icons. instead, users are forced to select one. this hampers the beauty of differentiating icons and thus causes a very bland and boring interface. 2. users with multiple email accounts, like myself (various emails for work, personal, and internet purchases), cannot consolidate all accounts into one icon. instead, the os forces upon users to have multiple icons on the welcome interface or multiple app on the listing feature. microsoft has been great success with the 'outlook' program for decades. why not include an 'outlook'-type interface for mobile emailing? the new name of this outlook program should be 'mobile outlook' or 'outlook mobile' etc. another feature which would enhance this phone is to have 'live tile' for this mobile outlook. 3. limited corporate mobile apps at the windows store compared to apple and android. many microsoft store corporate apps - like walgreens - are useless. these apps are gimmicks which forwards the users to their website. this drives up bandwidth usage! microsoft should not approve such apps. we need apps for financial institutions like american express or citibank, brokerage firms, starbucks, dunkin donuts, walmart, costco, sams club, etc! 4. the sound interface is poorly programmed.all sounds are interconnected and could not be differentiated based on headphone, incoming calls, text message, music, etc. 5. email sync and basic features. it is odd one email address would allow a user to add their name or select push mail while others do not have that option at all. furthermore, it becomes obsolete as users, like myself, have 2 gmail or hotmail accounts. you could add your name to one but not to the other. 6. copy, cut, and paste features. there are none! this is the most important feature for users. 7. phone call interface is ridicously and poorly programmed. why would i want to see the call history as the main menu after selecting the phone icon? i want to see the actual numeric keypad to dial a number. 8. live tiles. this feature is definitely useless as it doesn't automatically update. users would have to enter the program before the live tile updates. 9. main lock screen. i would like to be able to have my name, address, or contact information on the lock screen. 10. background color. it's just boring! there's millions of colors out there. users are forced to either have a black or white background. just boring! 11. inability to view png image files 12. there's no facial recognition app. this would enhance security...especially if you want users to add their credit card profiles in microsoft wallet. 2step verification is best. 13. central notification features nonexistent. 14. updates to apps lacking. users must enter windows store to see if updates are available. 15. date. users should have the option of having the date shown on top of the screen. 16. skype? it's not comparable to google voice. google voice is free. skype...users must pay 17. sharepoint. this app is useless. users can't connect as it continuously says 'something went wrong. please check your internet connection or try again later.' internet is available via wifi or lte. so that's odd! 18. calculator. this is useless. it shouldn't be that difficult to program it into a full feature scientific and graphic calculator. this would boost microsoft sales significantly as many high school and college students or even professionals, like myself, rely on such calculators. the screen is obviously a perfect size. the hardware is obviously present to perform complex calculations and devise graphs. 19. video calls. many users have wifi or lte access. why not include a feature that's interconnected as a submenu of the call button next to call history. allow users to make video calls. 20. the calendar feature is just outdated. microsoft should reprogram it to allow users to change the background color like calendar templates offered for microsoft word/excel. users cannot set each agenda on the calenda as a 'blocked colored ' task. the current interface is just boring! users cannot set the calendar to weekly views. only daily or monthly allowed. another feature which should be available is the ability to share the agenda with other users, workers, or friends. simply put it, users need to be able to add a contact to an agenda and send the contact the agenda via email or txt. another feature which is lacking is the ability to offer voice or video-recorded agendas. this would be a huge highlight for microsoft and its users. 21. another feature lacking is a central live clock. clearly, i have more complaints about this phone but i'm already exhausted at #21. i can think of nearly 50 more!!! these are very basic programming features which are lacking!!!!!!!!! Out of that list.... none of them affect me. I use Skype because it is free, and works. I don't care about multiple email accounts, or facial recognition... and basically just don't care about anything in your list. The only issue MIGHT be the copy/paste bit, but the more I think about it, the less I care. I used that maybe twice on my most recent Android phone. I thought Windows Phone finally got copy and paste. (I'd be surprised if it lacked that.) I actually use that rather often. (though it is a pain if I want to type quote marks and then paste in text - no, selecting on the opposite side of the screen does NOT mean I want to select that quote mark I just typed... why would I want to do that? That's the one thing I liked about Windows Mobile - there was a Control key on the virtual keyboard, so I could use keyboard combinations to get around that kind of stuff.)

Windows Phone got copy & paste with 7.5

If you hold down the back button, you should be able to look at all the open apps by swiping from side to side.

Someone should have pity and show you how to use your phone. It definitely does copy and paste and most of the other stuff your complaining about.

LOL! right!?! poor thing... yes pls send nokia your feedback. i have been an iOS user (iPhone 3G,4) for...forever. Apple iOS6 is outdated on such a pretty ( read prissy) little phone. yes the iph 5 is uber light (awesome!) but i would stick with my heavy, ultra-durable Nokia Lumia 920 ANYDAY. why? the (new) Windows Phone 8 OS is fresh making the iOS 6...what's the word....archaic.
Copy/paste is available. sweetie (with 21 reasons and 50 more to be whining about this phone) PLEASE READ what your lil' icons mean.
yes you can't change the color or font of individual tiles but this isn't "build-a-bear" game app.. MS will get there... :) (i hope).
i must say, i am still getting used to the email (YES, YOU CAN LINK EMAIL ACCTS..) and text msg interface but still very, very content. This is my 2nd day with my new phone. Very excited about the WIRELESS CHARGING MAT THAT COMES FREE WITH THIS PHONE (ATandT).
BTW, does the iphone 5 have a free wireless mat that comes with it when you pay an arm&a leg for it??
Thank you Nokia for making a new awesome phone that is affordable. Keep it up...please. :)
