AT&T FAILED miserably during Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey. I either lost or had spotty service for five long days, as I use my AT&T phone as my main phone. I stayed at a house that did have a landline and I informed my friends to call me on that line instead of my cell as the cell was USELESS! Well imagine my surprise when during and after the Hurricane my friends were calling me on their Verizon Wireless, Sprint and T-Mobile phones, yet my AT&T service was WORTHLESS. T-Mobile beat out AT&T really? One of my friends had a Trac phone and had NO problems during or after the storm. To say I was pissed is an understatement. I see a change of carrier in my future!

AT&T is getting a bad rap - I have Verizon service and couldn't use my phone for anything other than a paperweight. Which carrier worked better depended on the area you live in and how much infrastructure was damaged.

I must say, I'm a fan of AT&T and now have them for my iPhone - what use is the phone if you can't talk and use data at the same time? I'm often on the phone while using my map.
