you do realize these guys are just pulling numbers out of thin air, (or more precisely, they are using their own user's data, which doesn't include the vast majority of users of Apple apps, because app Annie doesn't give any more information than itunes connect does so a vast majority of Apple developers simply use iTunes connect..... while Android users are desperate for any information at all...
even i can count going from $4 billion sales in january then in october Apple was up to $6.5 billion, while they took 4 years to get to $4 billion, and 10 months to get to 6.5 billion, that you are not talking about only 13% growth... in a couple months in january that will be $8 billion or more...
App Annie is going to look like complete bozos in january when Apple release yet another astounding number, do you want to be there with them, or are you going to look at that $4 billion to 6.5 billion a little closer...
are you/they going to say all that growth just skipped a month in october..???
and that 4 times figure is vastly understated... it is extremely rare to see an app make any money on Android, mainly because everyone in open source expects things for free, and they do get what they pay for, that is for sure....

(oh, and that is just the money paid out to developers) hello, anyone awake with that.... that is why you get quality chasing money in the apple app store, while they see didly on the android platform...
