Terrible interface re-design. Almost like Apple looked at Microsoft and said, "Oh yeah? Well, we can screw up an interface, too!"

I actually had to resort to watching the Apple-provided "quick-start" video to figure out how to copy music to my iPod.

I feel like I should turn in my geek card...
My rig:
Commodore 64 with Modem cartridge. Tape drive. Zork. OKI thermal printer. 13 inch RCA color TV with tuning knob busted off. Atari 2600 joystick, and a list of all the best BBS numbers.

I thought the old interface was bad enough. Now it's even worse. When will Apple get a real file structure that enables us to organize data in a way that is logical to the user? How about giving us detail on the files being backed up or synced, rather than just a progress bar? It's useless.

I recently purchased a new computer, but Apple tells me I can't reassign my account to the new computer without losing all my data. As soon as I connect my iPhone to the new computer, all my data will be erased, and the phone reset to original factory settings. To save to iCloud, I had to purchase extra storage so I can back up over 30GB of data. Problem is not all data can be saved to iCloud and will be lost when I plug the phone into the PC, reassign the PC, and sync the files from iCloud. That's OUTRAGEOUS!!! Any alternative that will prevent data loss?

Why do corporate officer uptalkers repeatedly force customers to waste their time learning a new user interface that offers no additional features? Each new "release" rearranges everything and offers nothing new. In other words, there's nothing in it for the customers. If it ain't broke don't fix it. What are your thoughts on this, corporate IT eccentrics who foist this garbage on us?

This article was such a relief. Thank you so much!!!! I am still so frustrated with all the changes. Wish apple would calm down and just leave something alone instead of forcing us to "upgrade." AKA change the layout and hide everything. I am no pleased. But this helped me a lot. I just tried to add a song from my ipod onto a playlist already made on my ipod..it wouldn't allow me to add the song. Any ideas?? Thanks a bunch
