Thank you so much for bringing this topic to the answer line Lincoln. As was expressed in my original forum discussion it is not so much all the changes to my computer generated from this ilivid download, it is that Norton just let the bulldozer in to ransack my computer without even a peep. Once I hit "download" (why I did it in the first place has a good reason but I'll leave that for now) the program basically changed everything in my computer...from the task bar to the title bar to ALL my search engines..it installed a dizzying array of unwanted c--p in every nook and cranny of my computer. In the registry it even changed the administrator so it was not a simple removal process...they used some very tricky tools to stay rooted and embedded in my computer. Not malware? Safe? You must be kidding! So, we call it a PUP. (Your analogy of leaving a stinking mess everywhere is quite appropriate, sans the loves and kisses) I would just like a better security program that gives an alert if there are changes to the computer settings. In your installation process of this creepy program there are layers and layers of boxes to check/uncheck. As many have expressed here ...one slip and you are in for some big surprises.
Just the other day I was asked by Norton if I wanted to have their "safe search ". I like the little green checks when I am on the web so I thought this was just an enhanced version of that program to that so I said "yes". Then Google came on and said a program wanted to replace them as my search engine. No, I still like Google over Ask or Bing...so no I did NOT want to have that changed. It was great to have a warning and an option to change my mind. Since this was possible with Google...why can't anti-virus software add this to their package? It could be an upgrade to the standard package...however they want to do it. I personally would just appreciate an "are you sure" feature...Something like "this program will change your settings"... (explain the changes) and then an "are you sure?" I for one would be happy to pay extra for this feature and would move to whatever company offers it.
I am not very computer literate so I might be whistling in the wind but it appears that many are very frustrated with unwanted changes in their computer and would like it stopped.

It appears Malwarebytes has included known PUP's to be quarantined and deleted. Please confirm.

I am very careful about unchecking boxes and doing a custom install, yet my computer has had snap.do hijack my browsers twice in the last month!! And it was not listed in Control Panel>Programs, so I couldn't just delete it. I had to go through a long, complicated process to get rid of it, and I'm ANGRY!!
