after specific i have 2 options:Search for the best drivers in these locations----then within that i have to check "search removable floppy"---or, include this location in your search, which is where the browse button isORDont search.. I will choose the driver to install. Choose this option to select a driver from a list., etc.

Close the wizard and go to your desktop (if thats where the new driver is located ) and just double click on it, it will self install, then you will be prompted to re-boot

Did you set a restore point manually before you started this driver installation?

You can set your resoultion to whatever you like, and move the driver to my doc's or anywhere. Let us know if this fixes your problem.

[quote name='Tbird24']but a question about the driver. i have an icon in my toolbar thing next to the time. it has a bunch of settings like screen resolution, screen refresh rate, color quality, performance and quality settings, custom color settings, rotation settings, color correction, etc. what options should i choose. Those are custom settings for your new drivers. You can choose any option that suits your needs.> {quote:title=Tbird24 wrote:}{quote}and why a defrag, im just curious?Your hard drive constantly collects and stores data within different sectors. Defragmentation (not a real word) :-) basically restructures the sectors and cleans up the hard drive. You should normally do a Defrag once a month. Spike is correct, that would be a great test for your new drivers.See!!! Arent't you glad you didn't give up? How do you feel knowing you fixed a very annoying problem?

After all the mess you have gone through, and new driver installation, a defrag is a MUST, and AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH, if this isn't common knowledge, it should be, like breathing.
