Regarding the FDV Suite, my Anti-Virus software (Avira Antivirus Premium 2012) wouldn't even let me go to the download page because "The requested URL has been identified as a potentially dangerous website" (due to Malware).
After researching it, numerous other Anti-Virus software also found it to be dangerous, such as ESET NOD32, AVG, and Kapersky, to name a few.
Go here for more details on these reports:

And this was a recommendation? You can't be serious!

Norton also blocked the installation file.
I think its totally irresponsible for PCWorld to recommend either one of these download streaming suites. Both can seriously takeover your computer with search redirects and other unintended changes, and take hours (and knowledge) to clean up your system after installing either of these suites. it's not enough to simply say 'be careful'. Either give DETAILED instructions on how to avoid these undesired results during installation or, better yet, don't recommend this kind of software!

I noted in the March 2013 issue a recommendation to use iLivid for downloading streaming video. This can corrupt Lightroom and other Adobe programs as a quick search will reveal. Unless this program has been cleaned up, it should be avoided. .
