I am guessing you are on Verizon right? Verizon is notorious for how slow they are to send updates. Samsung is not behind the slowdown. All the other major US carriers already have 4.1.1 and are gearing to roll out 4.1.2.
Read about the Galaxy Nexus a Nexus device that Verizon updated so poorly that Verizon will never carry a Nexus branded Google device again.

Now you know why I left Verizon after 14+ years. I got so tired of locked phones or phones that we 'hoped' would come to big red and never did or how slow everything was on when updates were to rolled out, etc., etc. I made the jump to AT&T (wanted TMobile but they didn't have good coverage at my home) and so far, AT&T has been AWESOME! The boy's have Galaxy S2's, me and the spouse have S3's, all on ICS and we couldn't be happier! I updated my S3 to JB via Kies in about 35 minutes and it runs extremely smooth and lovin the new features.....very impressive.
Good Luck for all those still on V's network....there IS life after Verizon!!!

It's your carrier, not Samsung. I'm running 4.1.1 on my S3, delivered OTA by TMo.

For what device? Or are you trolling. If you don't have the update, which carrier are you with? VZW hasn't done the 4.1 update as of yet, but I can wait. If I can't, I will just download a custom ROM and flash it myself. I dont care about bricking it. Its nearly impossible.
Don't want to buy another...DON'T.

This is not a problem with Samsung, it is a problem with your provider. Most users have received the Jelly Bean update and it rocks! If you have not received it, contact your provider.

Its nice how you blame Samsung. They have already released 4.1. Blame your carrier if you still dont have it. Besides ive had 4.1 since august on my GS3. I got CM10 because i dont like to wait on carriers for updates.

for now. and it also depends on the carrier. He may not be using AT&T. Each carrier has to customize the update to work for the phone so some take longers than others. But if you are AT&T, you can go download it off of klies of you can wait a couple of weeks for it to go over the update system
