Hi Forum,

I have a problem with my Compaq nx6120 running WIndows XP with 1gb ram and 1.86ghz CPU.

Whenever I plug my laptop into the mains, the internet on the laptop and all other computers on the network suffer from extremely reduced internet speeds, but as soon as I unplug it from the wall, internet speeds return to normal on the laptop and the network. What could possibly be causing this?

Have determined so far that its not the router, or my wireless card as I have tried it on another computer, Im thinking it could be the power supply but I have no way of checking as I dont have another one laying around. Has anyone ever had this?

Cheers

turns out it was the power supply, I just went and bought a new one and the problem is solved! :) (A friend reckons it was an earthing issue..)

Need some history on this.

Did this just happen? Was the lappy ever working well with the network?

Can you bring up the lappy in "Safe Mode with Networking" and have it play well with the network?
