Whenever I try to convert a large Word-document (text of a book) to PDF I got the message (translated from Dutch):
This document is already in use by another program.
I have tried already the simple methods, restarting and the like, but I suspect that Outlook is the culprit, because I tried some days ago to send the book to the email-receiver.
Because it took too long to send it there (Also the text had a number of corrections in it, in red), I broke it off.
Could be that the owner's document has left its track in Outlook or something similar (I "parrot" things that I found in articles and other fora).
What should I do to free the document from that mark?
Is it advisable to reload Outlook?
I hope somebody can advise me.

Hi, Johan, and welcome to the forums.
Try Unlocker. It's free. Once you install it, you can right-click a file, select Unlocker, and it will tell you what's holding it open and optionally close it.
Another possibility: Try the Save As option to save the file in another name.
One more: If you can successfully print the file, install the Bullzip PDF Printer (or one of any other similar programs) and "print" the file to a PDF.
