I'm new to the forums and I am also sure that there is already a topic about this, but I have not found anything that matches my situation. I bought the Acer Aspire V5 Touch yesterday at Best Buy, and when I went home to turn it on, there was a white spot on my screen. I have read up on dead pixels and I am positive this is not a pixel issue. When I touch the screen (it is a touchscreen laptop) there seems to be "waves" of some sort coming from it. Is there anyway to get rid of the spot? Or am I going to have to return it to Best Buy to get a different one? I uploaded a picture of it. The circle is right beneath the search bar to the right. Thank you in advance!

When you come across display problems on a brand new machine, take it back! It isn't worth fighting these kinds of problems.
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov

I agree with Waldojim. Take it back if you have not already. The "waves" you see are normal when you press against an LCD screen, even if it is not a touch screen. The LCD screens on laptops and desktops are soft, unlike the tablets and smart phones which have "gorilla glass" tough screens as the desktops and laptops are not designed to be exposed to the elements as tablets and smart phones are.

The waves are a reaction to the pressure on the liquid crystals of the display.
