This is a terrible "article", and not worthy of PC World. I came here because it's at the top of Google search for "best CES 2013". Instead of insightful reporting, or the author's first-hand reviews, I get a re-hash of what's already all over the web from the last few days. This entire "article" reads like paid advertising from the manufacturers instead of a review. This author has lost any credibility form me, and PC World has dropped yet another notch.

I see that the Razer Edge is getting a lot of press, including this "article", but can any legitimate review give it a "best of" without, at the very least, a disclaimer that it's not shipping yet? This is especially true for a device that has been "in the works" for so long that it was in last year's CES. It still doesn't even have a firm shipping date. I would like to know, from a serious gamer out there (I admittedly am not) whether this is appealing. For me the value isn't there, and the 1-hour battery life is a deal-killer.

Sorry you feel this way JimYOung2013! This is meant as just a nice bite-sized roundup of all the PCs that were highlighted at CES 2013 since they sometimes get lost in the gizmos and gadgets.

This is all meant to be stuff we're excited for, not as any legitimate review of any of the units (which we won't do until we get it in house, in our labs for some real testing with raw data numbers).

As for the Razer Edge, I am a very hardcore PC gamer and am very excited with the direction the tablets are going. Even if the Edge won't be the answer to all of my gaming prayers, it's a giant step to hardcore gaming on the go. We won't know the real battery life, like I said, until we get it in the lab.
