Thunderbird-pop-3 And Windows 8 e-mail POP-3

I am considering upgrading my laptop to Windows 8. (Laptop is Thinkpad X-1 Carbon)

For many years I have used Mozilla Thunderbird and then MozBackup to transfer my mails to a new computer.

Will Windows 8 accept Thunderbird? And then MozBackup.

It should.

I suggest trying Windows 8 in a store first though, since the metro interface tends to get in the way IMO.
