What is the purpose of Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 2013 in detail?

For a piece of my College course i have to write a report which details two computer systems for a small buisness, as part of this assignment I have been tasked with deciding on a suitable piece of Security software for the system which is for a small Architect buisness and as part of the report i need to know in detail what the purpose of my chosen software (Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 2013) is. Information regarding the purpose would be much appreciated.
