In the Feb. 2013 issue, Answer Line, Lincoln Spector tells of a program called Ultimate Windows Tweeker. He tells how to remove those stupid arrows from shortcuts. I downloaded and installed the program, and the line he refers to, Remove arrows from shortcut icons, is grayed out! I have Windows 7 Home Premium. Anything I can do?

Hey DaveRay !
Welcome to PCWorld Community.
OK, well, my recommendation would be to uninstall UWT and go with this little one that I have used for ages now.
FXVisor or now called Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover utility. It will work for both 32 and 64bit OS, Vista or Windows 7.
I even used it on Windows XP. It's from Frameworks but, the owner is now working for Citrix I believe.
You will have to download either the 32 or 64bit installer. Don't forget to Right Click and Run as Admin.
32-bit (x86) Vista

64-bit (x64) Vista
Better yet, look at the instructions here : http://www.vistax64....tcut-arrow.html and use
the the Option ONE to install. It may add a process to Task manager but, I haven't seen any indication on either
Vista or W7.
