Hi everyone,

I was converted against my will from HotMail to Microsoft Live Mail. While I'm more than a little upset at how unbelievably slow and klunky it is compared to HotMail, at the moment I am more concerned about how to properly back it up.

I used to use outlook express and there was a perfectly acceptable backup program for that.

What do I do to back up and safeguard my e-mails?

I'm using Windows 7 Pro.

Thanks.
Bob.

Hi Bob, and welcome to the forums. Here's a guide to backing up Live Mail:

Since you like Hotmail I recommend Outlook.com. I've had a Hotmail account since Microsoft bought the service in the mid-nineties and now use Outlook.com with the old Hotmail address. It's a nice app, very well reviewed, very user friendly.

If you're just syncing a hotmail account with the Live Mail program, you don't need to do anything to back up the email, since it will remain on Microsoft's servers.

Hi and welcome,

And maybe it's time for a change, like e.g. Szczecin Home.pl?  If I have an O2 mailbox you may try this one as well.
