Trend Micro? This is the company that subscribed my credit card annually, silently and automatically, when I used one of their other tools. And where is Microsoft Security Essentials? It's free.

Was ESET tested or even considered? It is highest rated by most of the computer techs I know.

An antivirus comparison that doesn't feature the world's most popular antivirus software.
What's next, a "best browser revealed!" test comparing K-meleon, Slim Browser and the last known version of Netscape Navigator?

There were reports of missing documents, virus alerts with flash drives inserted in my work with one of the programs listed here. After the boss got annoyed, he finally approved my desision to install Avast. No missing files or alerts for viruses/trojans which are not deleted after the alert. And it is free...

I get all my clients on Avast and they never get infected. This is after cleaning infections on computers with Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, AVG, etc.

Avast is free for home use, but not for business.

Sad to say ('cause I've been recommending it for awhile now), MSE (known known as Windows Defender) has failed 2 recent certification tests for seriously poor performance.

bogus listing here - check the reference to AV-Comparatives and the latest summary report in Dec 2012 - Norton was not even tested! Don't trust any reviews from a source dependent on paid advertizing! Just go directly to av-comparatives.org

it may be slow but it is still effective and gets decent scores on av-comparatives. I run my scans at odd times when I am not using the computer much so I don't care how long it takes.

Zone Alarm has worked great for me for many years, including in countries known for some tough viruses. I'm moving to Macs though :-)

I have been using avast! Internet Security Suite 7 for several months. I've only had 3 viruses which it had no problem removing, and I love the $19.95 price tag for my 1 computer for a year.

wouldn`t trade Trend micro for nothing

i`ve used it since all the bad experiences i had with the free antivirus (avg, avast and antivir) and also of the most known antivirus giants in the industry like norton, mcafee and kaspersky...

either there was no protection at all (free ones and norton and mcafee) or just too many alarms of pigs crying out loud waiting for me to do something...

i remember installing Trend pc-cillin 2005 and thought i had done something wrong because it wouldn`t ask me any questions, but i was always protected...

haven`t changed since... the 2013 version on my windows 8 and windows 7 pcs just keep working without a hickup...
i use the titanium maximum security 2013 since it came out. no problems whatsoever.

For Mac users, Intego VirusBarrier X6 is rated the best
http://antivirus.abo...irus-Review.htm

I just renewed X6 for another year. NOTE: VirusBarrier 2013 has received bad reviews... some claiming it's stripped down and much inferior to X6.
