Google+ Outranks Twitter As No. 2 Social Network After Facebook

This is only because Google forces people to sign up for google+ to do anything. Check mail, write reviews etc. Their numbers are falsely inflated by forced registry, it would be amusing to see the number of people who actually use it as a social network out of choice.

The chart is misleading -- comparing apples and oranges.
Google+ active user is any person who uses Google Search or Youtube even if the person never post or log onto Google+
This is Google Inc. sneaky way of inflating Google+ statistics.
You cannot compare Google+ and Facebook active users.
If it is true that Google+ active users is 50% of Facebook, then CEO Larry Page who would have mentioned in the earning conference call this past week. But there was no mention of Google+ in the conference call.
You cannot take some charts from an unknown British marketing firm as true.
You also cannot trust Google+ numbers.

You are not forced to sign up for Google+, well not really. It is more like if you have a Google account, it IS your Google+ account. As for Gmail, I don't think one depends on the other. The contacts in my Android Gmail app are based on what I enter into my phone's address book and are not automatically imported or sycned with Google+.
Personally, Google+ is my social network of choice. Everything about it is easier, faster, and cleaner (design). Uploading and sharing media is SO much easier than it is on Facebook and I can share music from my Google Play library. Entire songs! (though the recipient can only listen once). I've always thought it made no sense you can not share music on Facebook.
Facebook's mobile app, iOS or Android, has always been lacking from a performance and options standpoint compared to G+. I also like that that with G+, by default, NOTHING is shared until you direct who should see it. This is the opposite approach of FB.

Social Network is a big domain and there are several companies targeting various niche/verticals. I am not surprised that YouTube is also a significant player in the domain. We at Mixnity (just launched Beta, www.mixintiy.com) are a local social network to help connect with like minded people and groups and help them hangout together.
That really is a shocker mistyping your company name three different ways! You sir, should not be your company's spokesperson online.

Somebody should take all these and create one single hypernetwork......a common platform on which you can post, tweet, vine, pin from all these networks and blogs.
