Yes, blame Microsoft for someone elses software problem... I mean MS should spend years testing every one of the millions upon millions of software packages on the market for you, right? Why install a demo or trial version of software that has a "use once" key?
For that matter, why blame the idiot software company that uses such a retarded policy, when you can blame MS?

I own several copies. Nope, not complicated. And Windows 8 is actually MUCH better for my systems. Windows 8 uses less ram, and fewer resources. Windows 8 has faster network, and hard drive management as well as better multicore performance. In other words, it is a technological step up that should only be ignored by people unwilling to look at Windows a little bit different.

Yeah because Apple never does anything like that right? Except that I own an older version of System 10 and for reasons never made clear, Apple doesn't allow access to the Apple Store unless you have the most up to date System 10.x. But wait...there's more! See, I cannot upgrade to the latest system because it is sold only 1 place....IN THE APPLE STORE!!
So I have to get access to the Apple Store to update my system so that I can get to the Apple Store. Vicious circle anyone?
My only choice is to wander over to ebay, buy a used copy of an intermittent System 10.x, install it, access the Apple Store, download the latest system 10.x, and then never use that intermittent system that I just paid for (including shipping) ever again.
Instead, I gave a big FU to Apple and am glad to embrace the more sane confines of Windows 8.

Appeal to popularity is a logical fallacy. For $750 I have a touchscreen laptop running Windows 8 like a dream, and really enjoy the great touch features and the speed of an Ultrabook. I won't pay $250 for a MacBook Air because it's trendier or thinner. I won't compromise a real metal body for plastic either.

just wanted to let any one who is thinking about buying windows 8 better think twice. It is the worst thing microsoft has ever come out with, its very complicated and any one who is not computer smart is going to have a hard time with it. Stick with windows 7 much betterrrrrrrrr. I own several copies. Nope, not complicated. And Windows 8 is actually MUCH better for my systems. Windows 8 uses less ram, and fewer resources. there are really very mixed reviews about windows 8....
i have been using winXP til now... and planning for a new laptop.... but cant decide to go 4 win8 or win7?? as both are a new expirience 4 me(though i hav worked wid win7 a couple of times)....
i m really looking 4 a concrete decision.... 4 as to which one of them is BEST to opt for....
there have been extreme reviews... about win8....
people have praised like its a super-fantastic upgrade...
and people have rejected and criticized it like its a worst and devillish upgrade ever...
how can a product have such extremes of opinions?..
i really look forward for a clear and convincing opinion for deciding the better ...win 8 or win 7...

Server tools 2008, exchange tools 2010 will not run on Windows 8. You have to do hacks. There is a Windows 8 Administration tools..but no exchange 2010 tools for windows 8...huge mistake.

So I set up a partition with windows 8 on it and I'm blown away! It looks beautiful (even on my crappy 720p HD tv) and is so much faster than either win 7 or OSX. I actually want to use Internet Explorer for the first time since 2006 it's so fast and slick.
Can't see why it's taking so much flak other than it initially looks very different and a few things have changed places. There's many improvements though.
If you're not into it give it a day or 3 to live with it to find where everything's been moved to and it should get better.

But OS X is beautiful and the interface is graphic and visual. A surprising level of attention has been paid to the interface. Search is ok on Windows but far better on OS X.
Metro is a mess on Windows. OS X has it's own nonsense iphone inspired interface but Apple didn't choose to shove it down your throat. So while working with OS X daily I actually never see it. With Windows I had to install a third party program to bypass Metro. Rumors are that Microsoft Windows Blue is set to remove the space that we call the desktop for good in its effort to drag us along with what Microsoft believes is the future. The kicking and screaming apparently aren't enough to get Microsoft to see the error of it's ways.
There's no clear winner here. OS X is advanced and beautiful but forces upgrades of your software and peripherals. You can probably stay with Windows 7 or 8 for another 7 years and be fine.
I've used both for 20 and never decided to drop one or the other. I thought I'd finally chosen Windows but Microsoft seems to be completely out of touch. I've always felt constrained by the way Apple does things but now Microsoft seems to be doing the same thing. I won't accept it from either. I'll resist for a long as possible. For now I depend on Windows mainly for critical programs so I can walk away from Apple, but I won't upgrade to a situation where something like Metro is anything more than an option. Windows 8 seems to be the end of the line for me but that depends on whether or not Microsoft wakes up and begins to hear the collective groan of the people.
