Software To Find/repair Bad Sectors On Hd's What Works?

I need some software that can Find/Repair Bad Sectors on HD's in a timely manner..

I have some older software, for older HD's, BUT when I tried it on a 500Gig HD, the program reported that the scan/repair would take just over a Yr!!!!!

So what programs are you guys using?
