Widen the idea behind this, and you will get unending funding. What a disabled user needs, an enabled user also needs. For example, I would love it if while I'm peeling onions, I could tell my Windows or linux machine to go on the internet, and find something. I can do that with Windows 7 on a limited basis; must keep looking at the screen to see if it understood me properly, as its speech engine types back, rather than talks back. If you could truly dictate stuff to your PC and it could talk back to you, imagine the value to billions of people, of whom the disabled, are a part. Boon to them all.

Similarly, for the deaf, who are somewhat better served today, than the blind. They can type and get answers seen. Can't hear, but can see and can use captions. Some of the deaf can talk well, but a sound in reply won't serve them. Okay, but those who are not deaf can benefit from the same thing.

If Surface had good speech recognition, it would be worth the price paid. If Linux could do it, people would gladly donate anything, and even want to have it be a commercial cost.

You don't have to be disabled, to need the technology the disabled need. That's the point I'm trying to make. Widen the appeal to WHAT it will do for the enabled, too -- and then you'll never want for funds.

I'm a 100% disabled, can no longer work at what i was trained to do. I worked for more then 35 years and now i spend all my time on the net, it seems.

Only problem with this is the fact that i am slowly losing the abilitles to type. Most speach programs are out of reach because of costing so much and what the Windows 7 OS has Leaves a lot to be desired. It is nearly useless. I play around with Linux, though i'm no Coder.

I'm stuck with a Gui to work with so this type of software would have to be extremily easy for people like me to use. I was and avid gamer for many years and had some of the sites i use to belong to to set up Disabled forums for their games in the past.

And my eyes are also getting worse at times so reading can be a real chore. I have wanted to see more done in this field of work to help the Disabled. Kodo's to the Developer and hope he gets the funding needed to do this and to improve the programing as it's needed.

I would help to Beta test this.
