I built a computer myself, using an ASrock b75 pro3 motherboard, radeon Hd7870 graphics card, corsair hx650 power supply, the Gskill ripjaws RAM (2 8gb), Asus optical cd/dvd/bluray drive, Corsair liquid CPU cooler (cannot see name from this angle) and seagate Barracuda 1TB hard drive.

My original problem was that it would power up, and then power down, on repeat, but then after reading the "How To Troubleshoot Your Home-Built PC" article here on pcworld, i jiggled my cpu fan plugs, and it started up and showed BIOS screen.

None of the tech guys i know are responding, so im forced to ask here.

My NEW problem, is that after shutting down to connect the hard drive and optical drive, it starts up, and runs continuously, but does not show video, and i cannot make it go to BIOS menu with a USB keyboard, or a serial keyboard. I have unplugged the HDD and optical drive to see if thats causing the problem, still does not show anything with them unplugged.

I have jiggled various power supply wires, made sure things are in correctly, but no such luck, yes, my monitor is on, and yes, the monitor says it is connected, but there is nothing to be seen.

ANY help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, and i am not against live support as well, im going to be here the rest of today, and every day until wednesday, so i can run tests on it if necessary.

If my tech guys respond and help me fix it, then i will post my solution here. Thank you for your help in this matter, this is my first home built PC, and ive spent 1000$ on it (before prices went up) and dont want it to go to waste.

My tech guy finally responded, but so far i have plugged my VGA into the graphics card instead of the motherboard, where it was before, and now its showing the BIOS screen.

Thank you for the help, i will be walking through it with my tech guy now lol

I had a fresh build fail after 2 weeks.
The brand new Corsair PSU would not boot while plugged into the graphics card.
Removed card and it booted using onboard.
A backup PSU proved the new psu would not boot with full load of all components.

It would try and boot then go into what looked like sleep mode.
Does this describe what you are going through?
