Hi, I am jayant. I want your help to fix my computer, dude. I have been facing a problem with my laptop for almost a month. When I open my laptop, some of the files are disappeared and when I restart and after full disk checking, I find the disappeared files and folders. Why this is happening? Please help me.
Thanks.

Hi, jayant, and welcome to the forums.
Could you please give us a bit more information?
1) How old is the computer, and the hard drive?
2) What operating system are you using?
3) What anti-virus software are you running, and is it up-to-date?
4) What types of files are disappearing, how important are they, do you still have them in backups, and have you been able to recover them?

First of all, I will say thanks to you for your response. I have purchased this laptop in 2008. I am using Windows XP. I am using Avast free anti virus and I have updated it. I have saved some important documents on the desk top and some photographs of a tour in my document. Now I have saved all in D-drive but terror to lose files is still in mind. When it happened first time, I was totally shocked but when turn off and re open, and after full disk check up I found all documents and photos.

Hi. One other question, are the files disapearing or just the desktop icons?

I saved some photographs in my document but I was unable to find the folder. Neither on desktop nor in start menu.

If you know the name of the file(s) you can do a serch in Windows to see what if anything turns up.
