Sure it has release day bugs, but complaining about running to switches gather info, etc is a cop out.
It has levels, items, skills, full multiplayer and co-op.
I dont see reviews complaining about Cod where you just run around shooting people.
I dont see reviews saying racing games you only drive around a track.
The atmosphere in the game is perfect you fear aliens jumping from behind you.
You are constantly battling with time and score.
It has upcoming dlc including a horde mode.
It is a direct sequel to the movie, I hope the reviewer goes and watches the movies then plays the game in its entirety before reviewing it as he did But what do you expect Sega doesn't buy reviews like EA and activision

"Sure it has release day bugs, but complaining about running to switches gather info, etc is a cop out."
No, that's a pretty accurate description of the game. It reminded me of Doom for the most part - the original - albeit without the charm.
"It has levels, items, skills, full multiplayer and co-op."
All augmenting a fundamentally flawed gaming experience with a horrible script, and an aura of boredom that transcends what I felt playing it.
"I dont see reviews complaining about Cod where you just run around shooting people."
Well that's perhaps because people are buying COD to play COD. I didn't pay good money to play a cheap COD knockoff of my favorite film and comic series.
"I dont see reviews saying racing games you only drive around a track."
Perhaps you could rejig the marketing and call it a racing game through Alien themed courses? It felt a little like this I suppose.
"The atmosphere in the game is perfect you fear aliens jumping from behind you. "
That certainly describes the experience I paid for. The atmosphere is like a quick total conversion mod for COD in an Alien themed, nee Prometheus themed, fun-house tunnel. Except instead of a free download made by passionate savants, it's a venal cash grab in lieu of any real creativity.
"You are constantly battling with time and score."
I was constantly battling to maintain interest enough to keep pushing switches to advance the narrative and have it redeem itself to me as even mildly entertaining as a total experience.
"It has upcoming dlc including a horde mode."
Does it just? Frankly I'd rather spend the money updating my DVDs of Aliens to the Blu-Rays. Or, on yarn. I may darn something. It would be more fulfilling experience I'm sure.
"It is a direct sequel to the movie, I hope the reviewer goes and watches the movies then plays the game in its entirety before reviewing it as he did But what do you expect Sega doesn't buy reviews like EA and activision"
As a game it was a dated mechanic wrapped in glitches, horrible graphics, horrible gameplay, kabuki-like character animation, and repetition. As a story it truly succeeded in one thing only, but spectacularly: it made Prometheus seem like it wasn't so bad afterall.

Oh, man. Wait for the end battle. It's the Gettysburg of push-button gameplay. On, my penultimate attempt I fired my idiot marine into space, figuring it a deserved ending for him. Had I stopped there my opinion would have been more positive.
The symbolic, secondary narrative that emerges by mistake as you plow through the co-op mode, of wondering just why two men are referred to as 'Winter' - who mime identical gestures, and speak the same dialog - was kind of fun I suppose. I truly thought it was leading to a Fight Club reveal in place of the predictable, yet still disappointing, ending to the (otherwise identical) single player game.
Enjoy it guys! Someone ought to.

What i played, was a jerky failure, that "Thunderbirds" wouldn't envy !
Damn, as an old (going on 20 actually) Alien fan, 51yrs, my dad took me to the cinema to watch Alien, i got the bug, lol, Prometheus was good.
We should've let the Chinese develop it, or Konami.
Well that's my bleat for today, who wants to buy a coffee coaster!
This is "ME" signing off, c'mon cat ... ... ...

What a slap in the face and wallet. Gearbox and Sega could sponsor the apocalypse, and I now I won't be watching it. What jerks.
