Too bad nobody'll be supporting the Surface for more than a month before the returns come flying in.

Yeah, they had 1000 of them for sale, or some small amount like that, each store having only a few. So if I was stupid enough to buy one even at $1000, then it would cost me $200 per year and then be unsupported? Why would I be stupid enough to buy it, when today for under $300 I can get a netbook that weighs the same, is the same size, but does all my desktop can do? And has lasted a lot longer than four years?

Heh. 4+ years of support for a product nobody wants. That's mighty generous of Microsoft. Too bad nobody'll be supporting the Surface for more than a month before the returns come flying in. Actually the Surface Pro, is more like a ultrabook in Tablet form, and you can do more things that your "netbook", it’s shipped for people that want to do real work with a versatile tool. It runs with a full powered Core i5 processor. Some reviewers are right to compare it to the Macbook air ( http://www.zdnet.com...ace-7000011009/ ). Will some of us get one, yes, do you feel stupid for buying a full functional PC with Tablet form when you could buy an atom-based netbook because all you need is to be online on Facebook and tweeter... well that is your point of view.

This M$ decision is not a big deal, IMO -- although the motivations behind change in policy could be ominous....

I agree. The Surface Pro is a great product that makes few compromises. If only the battery life could be longer....
