I'm using a HP laptop (envy 6) and i cannot get my usb modem (huawei e303) to work on it.
When i plugged in the device i can see that the system successfully recognizes the usb and install the driver, and when i go to the wireless dashboard I can see the name of my device into the 'mobile broadband connection' section, so everything looks okay.
However, i have no internet or data coming from or out the usb, and it says 'no internet connection'.
And when i launch the windows network diagnostic it says : 'your computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or source (dns service) is not responding'
So i don't know what is the problem, I first thought that it was a driver problem since the computer is new and so, but it doesn't look it is.
FYI : OS :windows 7
USB modem huawei e303
laptop : hp envy 6
Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Well first of all, is the USB modem compatible with windows 7, does you HP computer have a wifi card installed?. If not you will need one. have you made sure that the usb port isn't faulty because sometimes this has happened before. (Try Others.) Have you ever tried to update the wifi drivers for the HP notebook because it could be unsupported for that usb modem. Hope this may have helped your issue. If not please update what is happening and I could look for other solutions.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I had a look and pulled up these specs. Maybe not ypur laptop, but the ethernet & wireless is the same across the board. http://shopping.hp.c...200-Notebook-PC Now, the thing that is important in this list is the wireless. It is 802.11 b/g/n. Your USB thing must be compatible with this for it to work

That shouldn't have anything doing - the modem is just another network adapter of sorts, just like 802.11 wireless and Ethernet.
