I have been "infected" with Wiseconvert which has installed its toolbar and frequent ads(popups?) and I followed PC World's advice to get rid of malware. I started computer in safe mode, ran cleaner then logged onto internet. I used quick scan of Malwarebytes which found 24 infected files. I deleted those. I logged off and closed down. On rebooting bl++ toolbar and annoying pop ups all still there. only difference ids that Malware gives me frequent (at least every minute) notices that it has successfully blocked outgoing access to potentially harmful sites - all Process google chrome. I therefore de-installed Google Chrome, shut down computer etc. all to no avail.I also ran another anti-malware prog which confirmed no infected files.

An advanced site Superuser had same problem and it wasn't until the User got into her Register and deleted something, that Wiseconvert and all its annoying bits, disappeared. I don't have nearly enough expertise to do this (couldn't even find to delete Temporary Files). Can anyone help please? Although Wiseconvert purports to advise on de-installing itself, it doesn't work of course and is not shown in list of programs. I gather it hides itself. I'm desperate!

Hi and welcome to the forums. This is a manuel way to remove it, http://hands-oncorp....vertorial-tool/ and then you can run www.SUPERantispyware top finish the job. It does involve a registry fix and if you are not comfortable with doing that, you may wish to find someone who is. messing around with the registry is not for the uninitiated.
