Is Aes-Twofish-serpent secure?

With a 17 digit password (combination of letters, symbols, and numbers).

I really want to secure my hard drive which contains highly sensitive research information.

All depends on how you are defining secure. If given enough time and effort, anything can be cracked...it might take a long, long, long, long, long time, but it could be done.

In the end, it is likely about as secure as your are going to get and it is potentially overkill. About the only way to make it more secure would be to have a longer password (i.e. maybe 20 to 30 characters).
