Is this for all HTC phones or some models only? The article say and I quote:
User manuals for HTC Android-based devices “contained deceptive representations” and the user interface for the Tell HTC application was also deceptive, the FTC alleged.
multiple vulnerabilities found on HTC devices, including insecure implementation of the logging applications Carrier IQ and HTC Loggers, along with programming flaws that could let third-party applications bypass Android’s permission-based security
It says HTC Android-bases. What about Windows phone?

I got my first smart phone about a year and a half ago. I like my HTC Evo, but have avoided using it for purchasing anything for this very reason. As hardware and software suppliers jockey for top-dog position in the "Wild West" atmosphere of a newly sprouted technology, stuff like this happens. Best to give significant time for the dust to settle (like this settlement) before trusting them as our virtual wallet or keeper of my medical records, etc.
