Ref. Dell Latitude 840C Laptop w/1Gig RAM
I need a Free XP SP3 Friendly Anti-Virus. I tried both AVG & AVAST & Both of them ran my CPU @ 100% Duty Cycle!!!!
I used AVG for years, but the newest version is Not XP compatible (Only works if it uses Every Single CPU cycle!!!!). So I dumped AVG & installed AVAST. Same problem. So now I'm not using Any A/V program.
Any recommendations on a A/V program that plays nicely with XP?

Sure. Microsoft Security Essentials works great with XP.

I've had MSE running on an old Toshiba Satellite with XP SP3 since MSE was released, with zero problems. I also have it running on the other five computers in our house. It doesn't rate as high as some of the others out there but it is very light on resources, you won't even know it's running in the background.

My Philippine ISP is Smartbro. No, they don't offer anything more than "occasional" internet connection (They turn off their equipment Every Night). I have the fastest internet connection in the city. On a GOOD day, I can get 220Kbs. On a slow day, I can't even get my E-mail. All that irritation for only P1000 ($25)/mo!!!

I Loved Zone Alarm, until the code was changed so that it consumes 100% of CPU cycles.

LOL!!!!!! There Are NO ISP Security Suites used in Philippines. That would require that the ISP's Spend money, which they are loathe to do. BTW: AT&T & Comcast don't operate in Phils.
