Just to see what it's all about - NEW user! Today I installed Ubunto v 12.10 on a dedicated partition of a secondary multi-boot computer, as here;
Partitions;
1: Windows 2000 Pro 78 Gb FAT-32 Boot
2: Windows Xp Pro 78 Gb FAT-32
3: Ubuntu Linux 76 Gb EX-3
4: Linux Swap 2.1 Gb Swap

Ubuntu runs! Find I seriously do not like it and unwilling to spend major time learning something I am unlikely to use;
1) Boot manager now defaults to Ubunto >> can't find any way to change or adjust to default boot to something else, plus
Boot display defaults to something like 2000 x 1500 pixel, making the display font extremely tiny and unreadable,
this though most things within Ubuntu have changeable display text.
2) Help is a joke >> just as bad as Windows if now worse! Ubuntu web-site server has been mostly dead all day(?) so no help or Forum access
3) Changed Ubuntu desktop from its difficult default of around 2000x1500 to a more readable 1024x768 >>> now can't see all icons within various folders, such as system, find that there is no compensating sliders on the folders to scroll.

All together now >>> say BOO-Hiss

Anyway, is there anyone in the forum that can provide a step-by-step on how to remove this OS from my system >>> without killing or even damaging boot into Windows OS's (DO NOT want to re-install everything here....Help or advise please!

Give EasyBCD a try to manage the boot order :

Make sure it installs in Windows and also make sure to have at least .net framework 3.5 or LOWER installed


This is .net framework 2.0 sp1:

otherwise you'll get errors. Also , if you have ZoneAlarm installed, you might want to disable it while running the

program.

Thanks Flashorn for the info. You are the only person who attempted to help so guess I irritated all others with my comments.
Anyway, got tired of just waiting so finally just booted an Xp install disk, when it came to the configuration & partitioning stage, I just deleted the Ubunto partition completely >>> rebooted system >>> all problems GONE, no ubuntu boot manager mess and saved both versions of Windows already on the HDD! Am one happy dude now! Think my experiment system might have had an incompatible graphics card and Know this version of Ubuntu is not yet ready for distro - still massive conceptual problems.

Will insure that if ever I get an urge to experiment again, I will run the OS from a stick drive or anything short of an install.

You mentioned EasyBCD - I already use that on a couple of other desktops here but did not think to try it with this problem.
