I have a PC that had a power supply on it. The computer stopped working, so I tried putting the power supply from my personal computer in it to test some stuff. After taking my own power suppply out and putting it back in my own computer, my own computer won't boot up now. Can a faulty mobo cause a short circuit in power supplies? I've read that when a power supply or mobo die that they can take the other with them. Could they other power supply dying cause the mobo to become a power supply killer? Thanks in advance

Hi Asphalizo. No, a faulty Motherboard can not corrupt a Power Supply. However, a bad Power Supply can put undue strain on the processor and all hardware including the motherboard. You may not have connected everything completely. check all of your wiring and make sure that you have all the peripheral connections securely in place. What is the wattage of BOTH Power Supplies?

Thx, for the quick reply. I don't remember the specifics for the power supplies. I can post them later on today when I get home.
