Hi there, I have a computer which I installed Ubuntu Linux on it but want to install Mac OS X Mountain Lion on it, but when I try to insert the disc and restart the computer nothing happens(also yes I adjusted the boot order to have the optical drive start up first.). So is it possible to install OS X on the computer or am I doing somthing wrong?

It should be able to install OSX On that computer, but i aren't sure. On a mac you need to use bootcamp to recognise and start on a OS Disk. Is there some sort of OS starter tool on Ubuntu that you can use to try boot from the disk? Have you tried to just open the disk from the computer instead of restarting it and trying to install it that way.

You're not doing anything wrong, Windows can't read Mac OS discs. While it is possible to set Mac up on a Windows PC (it's often called a Hackintosh) it takes the right hardware and a workaround to install the OS. Just as a heads up, this violates the Apple EULA because the Mac OS is intended to be installed on Apple hardware only.
