Hi Arthur. I don't think the abbreviations will be of any help to diaoboix. :lol:Diaoboix, you cannot ask a vague question like that and expect any real responses. You need to provide the kind of games you like, the price range you would like to pay, and even the platform on which you want to play these games.

If you have a high end system, with at least 1 GB RAM, high end graphics card with at least 256MB RAM (onboard graphics chips won't do it), a DVD drive, a recent fast CPU, and you enjoy role playing adventure games, then I recommend The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion. Graphics are gorgeous, and the game is huge.

[quote name='AuroraManson']World of Warcraft is more popular then EQ2 now-a-daysI for one think EQ2 is by far a much better game than WoW. I only know one RL friend would played Wow and about 10 RL friends who play EQ2. But then again EQ2 is geared more towards older crowds..and it is a much much longer harder game to play than Wow..not to mention if you like really nice graphics then you will like EQ2 But all in all they are both good games

Arther what server are you on in EQ2? I have played both WoW and EQ2 for a considerable amount of time as well as 11 other MMORPGs. I would have to agree with Arther that WoW has more of a younger crowd and EQ2 an older crowd. For the OP (Orginal Poster) if you can give us the type of game that you like that might help us with narrowing down some choices for you. Or maybe let us know what you like doing outside the computer and that might help as well.

Hey diaoboix, I agree with McBarker on Elderscrolls IV : Oblivion. I presently have that installed and it is huge. Other RPGs that I have played and enjoyed are: Neverwinter Nights ( either the Platinum or Diamond edition ), Neverwinternights 2, Gothic and Gothic II.Another one that is more of an action game is Lara Croft Tomb Raider. I don't know how well that translates to the PC as I have been playing it on a PS2. I know there is a PC version though. Aurora made a good point with World of Warcraft although I haven't gotten involved with the online gaming ( my Nephew tells me I don't play well with others).Titan Quest is also good but can be pretty challenging at times. coastie65

For shooters, Half Life 2 is a great choice. It runs on virtually any system and is very good. There are also many mods for it.Unreal Tournament 2004 is a good deathmatch game. There are also a bunch of promising games coming out soon. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Crysis (is going to be a system hog), Half Life 2 Episode 2 (along with Portal and Team Fortress 2). Lots of good stuff.

I find it boring and counter strike source would be better if you like intense graphics and shooting. and isnt hl2 only one player besides for dod

If you have the system to handle it there are a bunch of amazing games available now. If you like RTS World in conflict is amazing, if you like shooters would recommend Bioshock or the old standby Half Life 2. All great games but there are many many more. Cant wait for Crysis.....

Well diaobox,

You really need to specify what type of games you like to play, but first, you need to make sure you have the ideal PC to do so (1GB RAM, nVIDEA GeForce 8500 or higher,AMD Athlon X2 5000+, Core 2 Duo Processor @ min. of 2.13GHz, etc.,etc.,. . . .)
Here would be my recomendations:
-Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
-World of Warcraft (WoW)
-Medieval II: Totla War
-World in Conflict
-Company of Heroes
-Heroes of Might and Magic V
-The Movies
-Sims 2 (and expansions)

Good recommendations, however the rig specs are not really necessary to play them. For instance, I have played Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the following: I gig DDR2 ram ( 533 Mhz ) , Pentium D 2.66 Ghz Processor, and a GeForce 7600 GS 256 Mb graphics card. Oblivion, once loaded, ran the configuration check and set it to High. I have since added a Gig of ram, changed to 3.0 Ghz processor, and changed the graphics to a GeForce 8400 GS, and am running Oblivion at the Ultra High setting with the internal graphics settings pretty much maxed out. That having been said, Neverwinter Nights 2 ran great on the 7600, but not so hot on the 8400. ?:| Go figure. coastie65
