If by "free" you mean "free-of-pay" you should read the answer from mphenterprises in the post "Is Limewire good to use and download?" on this subforum. Here is a link to that thread. You don't give much details about your question, but for "best" I think that you're talking about: fast downloads, big amount of files per search and maybe, withouth adds and little system resources consumer. In this matter there are common P2P software that cover those topics, but as the post I told you should read, things like limewire, ares, emule (or mods of this), azureus and so on are competitives, some of them has propeties that others don't but it lacks of things that others has and....they are legal but the content you obtain through those maybe not (almost 95% of the cases) so I can't give a review of any of those programs.By "safest" I think you're talking about virus concern or getting infected, to this I can tell you that none is the answer. The problem is that the programs are safe, the nets the use it also are safe (without talking the copy-right matter) but the users (or their PC's content) connected to those nets aren'tIf you connect to one net, the server and the program it self, only has the responsability to connect you to other's people PC, they don't have to check if the content that you download from those users are without virus, that isn't their job, so, there's a 50% of probability that you get infected and there's a 50% percent that you don't.Regards

Hi AcDark. Thank you for the plug; however, I have to give credit to AuroraMason. She was the first one to post that disclaimer. 8)

Hi AcDark. Believe me, this topic has definitely been discussed amongst the Powers That Be. 8) I will pass your suggestion on to the appropriate people :-)At this time, we take each thread on a case by case basis. Since there is such a fine line with P2P software, how we proceed with a given thread depends on the type of question one asks.I hope you enjoyed your Fourth. :D
