I'm looking for a laptop for general college use, with some gaming on the side, It must have a stable system, a Duo 2 processor, 2gbs of RAM, and a non-shared videocard. I'd like to pay around 1100$ for it.Where should I look? Any sites you can recommend? Thanks!

I was going to go with Dell, but they canceled a coupon that would have saved me 400$ and gotten me a Duo 2 2,0 ghz with 2 gbs RAM and a 6800 GHT 256mb for 1100$, which was a pretty nice bargain. Now it would cost me much more, and I'm looking elsewhere. If someone knows a place where I can get the same specs for a similar price, that'd be awesome!

The cheapest laptop I can find off of NewEgg with the specs you want is for 1300:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834147484It's the HP Pavilion dv6568se, Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66G, 2 gigs ram, 200gig hd, and a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS (128mb dedicated).

i would say if you can get a laptop with window xp it would be better since vista is crap, it eats up half your ram which can affect gaming depending on games like halo 2 and vista doesnt support all games yet just some.

I have XP, so I might just use that. As for the post two up, that computer has specs much lower than the Dell I could have gotten, and it's 200 more. :-7
