I was combing through some older threads for a project that I'm working on, and ran across some posts from phillypa. Anyone know what happened to him?

BB as in Big Brother. The one with offices in Redmond, Wash. The one PC likes to phone home to periodically. It took me three tries to get this posted, the first try, it wouldn't post, I looked up at my HughesNet box and all the lights except power were out. Rainstorm.Flipped over to the other machine with a modem and was going to do it on dial-up. I had forgotten how slooooooooow. I almost fell asleep. Finally about the time the dial up logged in to PC World, HughesNet came back up and flipped back and redid it.Sometimes its good to remember no matter how slow you think something is, theres always something slower. Although I don't know what could be slower than my dial up at 24kps.

When I first started in this, the standard speed for modems was 300. You could still buy 110 Baud acoustic couplers, however. They were mostly used on AppleII's, as most houses still had hard wired phones, and the phone co didn't want people to wire min modular connections.:rolleyes:All this doesn't get us closer th Phillypa.
