Lol!> > > > Yea i am unluky from basil and hi partiot lol your very good at computers> > > > anywayz, i was just wondering cause i read some reviews that spybot S&D which i rely on and really like, is supposed to be really bad anti spyware, and yea i do need a antiviruslol cool never thought anyone from basil would be here. I quit basil and ms because my email for basil got lost in the database so i couldn't log in that account anymore. Spybot is not a bad antispyware, but it is rather a good one. But its best to use 2 antispyware like what Mindstormer said because not everyone spyware scanner is going to pick up everything. For antivirus you can choose within avg or avast, both are free. AVG seems to be easier to use but I personally like avast better.

{size:18px}:D Hi Unluky : When it comes to info about antiSPYWARE "stuff", the Best is on Expert Eric Howes website at : www.spywarewarrior.com/rogueanti-spyware.htm ; his recommended "Trustworthy" Programs are at : www.spywarewarrior.com/rogueanti-spyware.htm#trustworthy . This "List" places Spybot in the "2nd tier", in a category he calls "Find Useful" . In the "1st tier", the Programs that the experienced, trained, volunteer Malware-Fighters use most when helping someone get rid of spyware on their computer is : 1) FREE version of SUPERAntiSpyware from www.superantispyware.com AND/OR 2) the "Trial" version of AVG AntiSpyware, most easily downloaded from www.ewido.net .

Im not too sure why it would block it and make it not deletable but are you sure when you downloaded avg it started happening right away? Did you change any setting?

{size:18px}:D Hi Unluky : Being one of the volunteer Helpers on the Avast Support Forums, IF you have problems with that program it is Best to ask for Help on THEIR Support Forums at http://forum.avast.com and/or use the "SEARCH" feature there . I recall situations like yours have been asked and answered in the Past ; for the situation you mentioned, Volunteers "DavidR" or "Tech" are the most knowledgeable . P.S. Avast does NOT block access to the internet; did you read through the info at www.avast.com/eng/faq-avast-4-home-professional.html !? The "Web Shield Issues" seems to be a Start on the problem you described !? "Check your firewall configuration. For the correct operation the Web Shield process (ashWebSv.exe or aswWebSv.exe) needs a permission to access the Internet (TCP port 80) and a permission to act as a server and accept incoming connections from localhost (the local machine) on TCP port 12080. " BTW : I also use Sygate Firewall & have no problem connecting to the net; did you configure it according to the info at www.kotiposti.net/string/SPF_eng/SPFGuide.html !?

:) Thank you one and all for answering the questions I had set out to post here. I can see that I should have no problem using several spyware detector programs together. I noticed that many of you use them simultaneously as backs for the others. This is most practical, as I had hoped I could do. Now I can.My current arsenal of privacy & security programs consists of Advanced WindowsCare, SpyBot S&D, AVG, ZoneAlarm, & Windows Defender (on Vista). They are what I thought would be best for me or as recommended at various sites. However, now I know that I can add SpywareBlaster & Adaware to this arsenal of mine. Hopefully, they'll play well together like nice brothers or friends.Incidentally, you might be interested in knowing that AVG was most capable at detecting a worm on my laptop & desktop that neither McAfee or Norton could do. This worm was rampant on my computers (it was all over the place--here & there & everywhere). In this respect, I most certainly agree with those who favor AVG over the other two or even others. Thanks, Gals & Guys,Sincerely, Raymond
