I ran CCleaner for the first time to today and went over to the issues section and clicked find issues and then it came up with a bunch of problems that i had. Alot of registry files missing and this and that. I dont know any of this stuff. Is it safe for me to fix all those issues even though I dont know what I'm doing?

Hi Streek. I know we talked about this previously. For applications like CCleaner, you should just let it do its job and not try and configure anything. Wasn't it you that had issues with CCleaner in the past, or was that Spybot?I have used CCleaner for a long time and I have not had any problems. If you are going to use registry cleaners, use a problem that is specifically designed to clean the registry.Even when dealing with those applications that specialize in registry fixes, if you do not know to what the line entry pertains, do not do anything with it.

I have had problems with Spybot but not the same ones. I actually had a similar question about HiJackThis if that is what you are referring to.I was just confirming because I was told in another thread that HiJackThis looks for threats and the files can be good or bad, just wanted to make sure that CCleaner is not similar to that.

{size:18px}[/size]:D Hi Streek : In the Past, some experienced, trained, Volunteer Malware-Fighters have questioned CCleaner's "Issues", which is a "registry cleaner" . Even read at least 1 Post somewhere of someone having a bad experience using their "Issues" . I feel it is best to use a "standalone" registry cleaner and the safest I have found is the "Evaluation Copy" of Registry First Aid . Questions about a product is best asked on their Support Forums, if they exist ; CCleaner's is at http://forum.piriform.com/ .
