do you have any anti-virus software on your computer? If not this is a good place to start. I prefer to use AVG anti-virus, it is a wonderful program. I was going to give you the links for download, but it won't let me since I just joined the forums myself ;P So instead you'll have to google it. Just put in a search for AVG anti-virus and download the free version for windows. Update it and then do a full system scan. Also, try deleting all your temp, temporary internet files, cache, and cookies

Hi Orange. There are so many free security programs out there that you do not have to worry about finances. First, you need a:Firewall - Zone Alarm FreeAnti-Virus - As Pawky said, AVG Anti-Virus is very good.As you will notice if you took a tour of this forum, no one in here would ever advise keeping or using Norton'sAnti-Spyware - Super Anti=SpywareThese are just the beginning. If you find that after you scan with these that you are stil running into problems, post back and we can investigate some more.

Orange - there have been many posts about Norton. While the NAV version you have was not as bad as the current Norton Internet Security, it is no longer the best. As you have alluded, once they have you they keep dinging you.I recommend that you remove Norton's before you install a new anti-virus. Here is the link to download the Norton's Removal Tool. Its a sad commentary that a solfware supposed to protect your machine is so invasive, that even windows add/remove programs routine won't remove it all, so in order to uninstall and reinstall they have to provide a tool. I just use it to uninstall. http://service1.syma...05033108162039I have used AVG for several years on my other machines, and about three month's into the 15 month subscription for Norton's, I removed it and went to AVG.I then use superantispyware along with a paid spyware Webroot's Spysweeper. Although I only use Spy Sweeper on my two XP machines, with superantispyware, I have not had a problem on this Vista machine. After that, you may want to consider going to the download sections of this website and entering registry cleaner. Download one of the free registry cleaners and run it. This will clean up the bits and pieces of software links left in the registry by windows. A lot of them can slow down windows.

{size:18px}[/size]:D Hi Orange : You MAY have a serious spyware "Infestation"; since Ad-Aware & Spybot nowadays are no longer the top antiSPYWARE programs, ones like SUPERAntiSpyware & AVG AntiSpyware, most easily downloaded from www.ewido.net, are the 2 FREE ones most recommended by many Malware-fighting Experts . IF the antiSPYWARE programs that have been recommended do NOT resolve the "problem(s)", then I recommend you use the FREE "RogueRemover" from www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php ; however, this program usually requires to be "unzipped" to install it, with the use of a program like WinZip . Another very good FREE antiVIRUS program is Avast Home Edition, from www.avast.com ; before selecting any antiVIRUS program it is wise to read their "Frequently Asked Questions" and Avast's is at www.avast.com/eng/faq-avast-4-home-professional.html . Avast also has EXCELLENT SUPPORT FORUMS.
