Ok since rgreen said make a thread about my vista problem well here i goProblem 1 Solved :DWhere is the burn button vista? I want to copy and paste some folders to a new disk but when i drag it on my drive i dont see the button burn anywhere lol?Problem 2 Solved :DMy Limewire, Frostwire Problem nothing will search, when i search nothing comes on and it keeps saying my internet network is connecting when it is already conneted and i tried running it with firewall antivirus etc off, still doesn't work.Problem 3 Solved :DMy internet browsing speed seems to be slower than before. Google takes like 5 secs to load, and i check my speed same as xp, but i can feel the slowless of it, maybe its just because firefox doesnt really support vista yet but i am also having this problem with IE7.Problem 4My printer scanner is either screwed up or it is just weird. When i scan something it scans it in big letters and it scans only like 2% of it and its like the bottom portion.Problem 5 Solved :DWhen i turn on the computer i have to wait for zone alarm to load and if i dont wait and i click firefox it wont open lol, but internet explorer will no matter what. Then i would try later again to open firefox, still wont open, so i restart , wait for zone alarm to load and it works.Thats about all the problems i have with vista lolNow i only have my printer problem

Ok, we'll take them one or two at a time.Problem 1 When you say you are copying files to new disc I infer that you mean a CD+/-R/RW since you are asking about a burn button. What program did you use on your old machine and what program is on your new one? Are these data files or more likely music files?Problem 4 You mentioned your printer scanner. From that I infer an All-In-One printer. What brand and model? Surely you didn't just plug it in but downloaded the full driver package. These printers are tricky from the outset, and transitioning one from XP to Vista can be even trickier. Most of these driver packages require they be installed first and then the printer connected. If you didn't do it in that order, disconnect the printer, uninstall the drivers, reinstall the drivers, reconnect the printer. Then test it.

Hi,I have ZoneAlarm free firewall and it the last thing to load when computer boots up. Over all it takes about 12-20 seconds from the time I log on for everything to load. I don't click on nothng until that Z appears down in the task bar. Maybe that's the way it is.Roger1955[/b]

Lilxkid - I know that there are several computers in your house. Do you have a router and either a wired or wireless network?

Then on the botttom it would say burn. On vista i cant see the word burn anywhere. My printer is a Canon pixma mp750. lol ya i did just plug it in and let it install. I have the disk for full install etc but it wont read. I went to the site but it said no drivers update available.

On your printer, have you tried this Driver Page by chance? As to more than one computer, I was referring to your household, assuming that you would not have the only computer in the house. But, you know what happens when one assumes.

My systems sit behind a Linksys router with the XP Pro connected via ethernet and the Vista desktop and XP Home laptop via wireless. The Linksys router (as all do) have a hardware firewall. That is why I asked about a router at your house.I had assumed you had a PC in your room and that somewhere else in the house there would be another for parents/siblings or even more. If you were behind a hardware firewall in a router, then they are more compatible. That being said, my Windows Vista inbound firewall is on. It will then block all inbound connections subject to the exceptions. My exceptions are: Core Networking File & Printer Sharing Internet Explorer Network Discovery RAIDar (associated with my Network Attached Storage device) Remote Assistance Windows Media Player Windows Media Player Network Sharing ServiceTo get to this Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall. On the left hand side click on Allow Programs Through Windows Firewall.I do not have the outbound Firewall enabled. (It is disabled by default)

I think more accurately is that in the Press, the Windows XP firewall was considered weak. The Windows Vista Firewall is better, they have included an outgoing firewall that XP lacked, however, most third party firewalls are considered stronger. Please note that my systems are sitting behind the Linksys router with a hardware firewall. The hardware firewall is considered even better than the third party software firewalls such as Zone Alarm. That's why I asked if you were behind a router. Without a router, if you had a direct connection to a broadband connection, you definitely need a firewall to keep the baddies out. ZoneAlarm should have some exception handling to allow responses back to IE and Firefox inquiries. You definite don't want to run without any firewall at all, unless you disconnect the ethernet cable when your not on the internet. There is even a switch now that you can use for that. No connection definitely keeps the baddies out. But that would be a Major Leage Pain. All of my exceptions were automatically set up when I installed Vista and the network. I did have to add RAIDar. It is the setup and control program for my NAS and the RAID configuration on it. I have all my data on it so it is constantly duplicated on the shadow drive. I forgot about the software firewall when I first tried to set it up, and the program couldn't find the box. The hardware firewall wasn't an issue since it was on this side, but the Windows firewall was. I know some people who actually have two routers. The first is for the general household, and the second is for the private family files. The teenager computer are in between. That way if a port is opened for downloads or play a game, the family financial data is still protected. With the lower prices on routers now, like the drop in prices on hard drives, it make sense. Kind of like the outer and inner walls of a Fort. Sad commentary on our times.
