I have a HP pavilion dv6000. The battery only lasts 5 minutes on a full charge. I heard of a program on my laptop that recovers it or w/e, but i dont know how to do it. Anyone have any ideas?thanks

try getting a hold of hp then to see if they will replace your battery.

ok... but i was wondering if there is a program that i can run to recalibrate the battery or w/e. My friends older HP had this program, and his battery is working better.

Sorry to hear that your battery cannot work well. There may be two reason for this matter.First, The cells of your battery are too old. To this reason, the battery can not be recovered by handling the program.Second, the panel of your battery which contains series of electronic components drops into trouble. The most important gadget among the components is a chipsite, which can control the activity of the battery, just like our brain. If there is anything wrong with this chipsite, you may settle down this problem by handling the program. The critical point is that: do you know how to handle the program? If not, I advise you not to take any action. If your battery is still under warranty, you'd better turn to HP for help. If not, You may buy a new one. If you like this battery very much and do not want to abondon it, you may find a laptop battery expert, make a date with him and offer detailed information to settle your problem.

Easiest solution, ship it back to avoid hassling to fix it lol, :D
