I have a stupid question to ask. I subscribe to PC World magazine. Throughout its pages there are a number of five digit numbers (in light blue) that you can enter in the search box for more information. When I enter this number in the search box on the PC site, I receive a message that it could not find what I was looking for. This happens with every number I enter!! Is there another place I should be searching? Thanks, Van

Hi spoodle. First, you are definitely no dummy. :-)Second, you can type the entire find.pcworld.com url in the address bar of your browser -- find.pcworld.com/12345 -- or you can go to http://find.pcworld.com and use the small find-specific window that is on that page.

Its me again and i have another problem. i tried to answer a post regarding shredders in which you asked if anyone had any information on these to submit them. i typed a response and tried to send it but received an error message telling me i can only post two times and must wait a day before posting again. i have posted before and not received this message = whats wrong? I wanted to give you the name of two good programs for shredding files. one is excellent and meets the DOD specifications. maybe you can help me to send these addresses to you. I don't know how to make these addresses clickable in a message (maybe you can help me with this). hope i'm not imposing on you. thanks, Van

i did not receive a private message from you - just the ones we have been corresponding with. i saw a message from Car 54 inbetween our emails and thought it might be wrong since it did not pertain to our conversation. i was trying to help the person who was inquiring about a shredder (these are free) but i dont think i am doing much. thanks, Van

spoodle,You got that message because you were trying to submit a post with links in it. In order to curb the forum spam problem, we instituted a policy that users had to be a member for at least one day and make at least 2 posts before they would be allowed to post URLs. That is why it didn't work for you initially, but did work in your more recent post. You should be able to post URLs from now on.
