I have a couple questions on said subject, and I was wondering if anyone could help. I plan to become a professional movie director/editor/animator, but currently I am still in high school. I know the best course of action would be to save my money for film school, but I want as much experience as I can and I am looking for both a computer and software that can help me make some decent movies, of high quality. But I am having trouble doing so.For starters, I need a computer that can handle editing software. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm looking for one somewhere along the $2,000 dollar price range. I assume the computer must have an excellent video card and processor, but one can never really be to sure about these things, so I'll leave that up to you to answer. I was looking at a few Alienware computers, however their prices are a bit high and desktops from cyberpowerpc are much more affordable. I was also looking at the new iMac, but I have never used a Macintosh before. However, with a Mac I can use FCP, which brings me to my second question. What programs would be good for someone in my situation? I have used Pinnacle Studio 9, but I want to avoid lower-end editing tools. I was thinking something along the lines of either Adobe Premier CS3, Avid Xpress with Mojo, or FCP, the latter of which are a bit pricey for me, but can be done. But maybe there's something you could suggest. For animation I was looking at, and have tried, Adobe Flash CS3, but I believe there are programs that can create 3D animations with much more ease. However, I plan to make 2D videos, so I can live with Flash. If anyone could make suggestions, and/or answer my questions I would be very grateful. Thanks.
