how do i use karaoke function in quickplay (HP laptops)

i wanna record a song. i've the karaoke song in my audio cd....i opened quickplay option and then i hit karaoke. then i inserted my audio cd ...but my laptop can not find any track....so my question is... how am i supposed to use that feature?
