Greetings,I'm new to this forum. I'm an amateur photographer. Love to shoot anything in sight. I'm planning to upgrade my current photo editing software, Photoshop Elements 3. But having a hard time to decide between Photoshop CS 3 & Photoshop Elements 5. Am I waste money to have Photoshop CS3 knowing the learning curve is high for this editing software? Your help & opinion is appreciated.PK 8)

I could not find a really good feature comparision chart, but I did find this article that lists what advantages CS2 has over Elements...it might help:[url]http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/photoshop/f/elementscompare.htm_I would look at what the "added" features are that are in CS2 that are NOT in Elements. If you don't need those features, then Elements might be the best fit for you. If there are one or two features that might be useful, then you have a real decision...it is worth all that extra month for a few extra features that might help. If there are quite few features that you would make use of, then CS3 might be the way to go. Only you can really make that choice.

[quote name='yingxianglao']Hi Smax,> > > > Thank you for your input. If it does not, then upgrade to CS3 from Elements. You can do an upgrade from Elements to CS3 for $550, while the full price is $650. So, in theory, you would save $30 by going that route even if you end up at CS3. If you find that Elements works for you, then you save the additional $550.Now, in reality, since you already own Elements 3.0, you are already eligible for the $550 upgrade price, so you would be spending (i.e. wasting) $70 if you decide that Elements is not enough for you since you can just pay the $550 now to get CS3.
