Hey People! I currently use Firefox and have been for at least 2 years.Last update 2.0.0.6 is prone to crashes. I tried Opera; to slow, but really like the split screen option.Avant gives the same option, but don't want to do another install and uninstall. I hear they've revived Netscape. Has anyone tried these new browsers, and do they compare. Any response is valued.FlashornPatience is life.

I like Firefox as well, I like changing my themes from time to time so you aren't looking at the same thing all of the time. I still use IE7 as well, I haven't had any problems with IE for quite some time.

I'm using both Firefox and Opera right now. The difference between the two is that one has its features already built into whereas Firefox on the other hand is a simple browser, but requires addons to put more enhancements in it.
Either way you choose, you can be confident that you'll have tabbed browsing. But Opera seems like it was made more for business purposes. You have everything there, and you'll also notice that both Firefox and Opera have slightly difference interfaces.

My default on all three machines is IE7, the machines run XP Pro, XP Home and Vista HP. My laptop running XP Home has recently started giving errors trying to connect to my Earthlink home page. I thought it might be a wireless problem, but the Vista machine is wireless, but also Vista. My temporary solution was to simply delete Firefox. I still have it on the other two machines.
IE7 is much easier to open a new tab than is Firefox, and of course nothing works on the MS site, except IE. And with IE, you don't have to search out plug-ins like you do in Firefox.

I use IE7 more because I am too lazy to download and try out the others...especially since IE works just fine for me (I can live with the occasional crashes ;-) ).

... theres no way I'd open up internet explorer unless I had to.

Mostly I use FireFox, I sometimes use Opera (I want to get to know its voice commands better, and a kiosk mode for when friends want to use your computer.) However I must locate an adblock for it, being spoiled on FireFox I can't surf with ads anymore lol.

Thank You ALL for your expert advice on this matter.I too am using Firefox but was looking for a alternative. I really like Opera's two window interface but find it quite slow compared to Firefox or even IE7.I guess I will remain with Firefox for now untill a new alternative comes along.Again PEOPLE thank you for ALL your input.

Flashorn.
